Mission and Values

Ego Death Theatre Collective is an emerging theatrical ensemble deeply committed to honesty, community, and, above all, playing boldly. We strive to present work that not only entertains, but challenges our audience and provokes difficult questions about the way we see and affect the world around us.

We are committed to the Chicago community, and to the development of new plays by local playwrights. We are dedicated to theatrical excellence, and are determined that the theatre we create be accessible to all.

Our Story

Founded in 2023, Ego Death Theatre Collective is a new, Chicago-based Theatre Company. In the Spring of 2024, we completed our Pilot Season with a series of four workshops of new plays by Chicago area playwrights. This season (Season One), we are presenting three fully staged productions as a Collective, as well as continuing to support local playwrights through our workshops of new Chicago plays.
